I've always had a huge, massive, guilty problem with having more than one fandom. I've been aggressively mono-fannish my entire fandom life (on and off for six years) and have only ever concentrated on consuming, creating and breathing one fandom at a time. Recently, due to the stress in Bandom, I finally allowed myself to get past that guilt barrier and started lurking in other fandoms.

So far I've gotten myself into BBC Sherlock and Doctor Who, and I'm flirting with Game of Thrones and a bunch of others. I've loved Sherlock for a while but never thought of it fannishly since the end of last year. There's so much amazing fan art and fic, not to mention podfic and other awesome avenues of fan appreciation. And it was intoxicating to get to read about fan personifications of characters who I'd never read about before. I'm so much into Bandom that I mostly think about the actual people as characters in fic, so to start exploring fic of BBC Sherlock, something I'd never delved into before, was completely alien and heady. I was experiencing a fandom for the first time, which I hadn't done for six years.

After being introduced to Doctor Who around Christmas, I promptly fell in love with the series faster than anything before. I think I watched all seven and a half series in roughly three or four months, and it was the first time watching a show and immediately wanting trope fic and even planning fic of my own. Doctor Who also has amazing fan artists and bonus strange tropes, planets and people and situations that seem so fun to protray in fanart and fic.

I'm not leaving Bandom. After being here for six years, my love for the characters, the fic, the fan art and podfic, the community, won't ever fade in the face of some shiny new fandoms. I still go through my reading list and Twitter and the prompt memes. I have Bandom fic I still need to read bookmarked in my browser, Bandom podfic on my iPod and Bandom fanart saved to my Pinterest boards. I won't pull out of illustrating for Bandom Big Bang. I still love talking to you all.
